What is a superstructure?
Superstructure includes things that are attached in and to the house. These parts of your home require demolition or breaking to remove them. Examples include windows, ceilings, doors and walls. Fences, garden fences, hedges and planted trees are also included in superstructure.
Notice:
The dishwasher,a bathroom cabinet or, for example, the wallpaper, on the other hand, are covered by your contents. See the overview below.
Premium Basis:
Your building insurance premium is based on the rebuilding value of your home.
Reconstruction value:
The rebuild value of your house is especially important for your home insurance premium. There is a difference between the reinstatement value and the purchase value of the house. This is because the reconstruction value does not include the value of the plot.
Notice:
Damage for calamities such as natural disasters and molestation (war and armed uprisings) is not covered.
What is counted as a building/property?
Regularly discussions arise about what should be considered part of the contents and what should be considered part of the building when damage occurs or to determine the insured sum.
Below you will find the overview of the Association of Insurers.
If the building and contents belong to different people, certain parts that are referred to as "building contents" can still fall under "contents" if the following requirements are met:
- The owner of the contents has improved/added things to the building at his own expense.
- The contents owner took over an improvement already made by the previous occupant for a fee
- And the rig owner or his insurer will not reimburse e/o repair the damage.
