Can I drive immediately after applying for disability car insurance?
By law, you are required to have at least third-party insurance for your disabled vehicle .
Through our website, you can make a calculation for the insurance and purchase it. However, you may not take the disabled vehicle on the road immediately after applying for insurance. You must first attach an insurance plate or insurance sticker to your vehicle. You will receive these from the insurer once they have accepted your application and made out the policy. They will be sent to you by mail.
Are other people allowed to ride on my disabled vehicle?
When applying for insurance, you specify the driver. If someone else was driving in the event of a claim, this may affect the claim payment. The insurer will assess this on a case-by-case basis.
If you sell the disabled vehicle to someone, they may not drive with your insurance plate. That person must apply for new insurance for the disabled vehicle themselves.
Why do I pay per year for disability car insurance?
Disabled vehicle insurance runs from May to May. You also purchase the insurance for that entire period. Therefore, the premium payment is also per year.
If the insurance does not start until October, it will continue until May of the following year.
Should the insurance be terminated within the year, you will of course receive a refund of excess premium paid.
Will I get the prepaid premium back if I cancel the insurance within the year?
Should the insurance be terminated within the year, you will receive a refund of the excess premium paid.
How can I stop the insurance of my disabled vehicle?
When insuring a disabled vehicle, you get an insurance plate or sticker. Only with this are you allowed on the road.
If you sell the disabled vehicle, the insurance plate or sticker must be returned to the insurer. You can send it directly to them or to us. Once the insurance plate is received by the insurer, the insurance can be discontinued.
