What does the "consumer and housing" module include in a legal expenses insurance policy?

With this module, you and your entire family, within the European Union, are insured for legal assistance in a variety of consumer matters, such as purchases (retail or online) and problems with a supplier of energy, telephone or Internet.
Has damage been caused to your home (in the Netherlands), or are there disputes regarding your home (such as buying/selling/renting/maintenance/renovation)? These are also insured. As well as disputes with neighbors or family.
Divorce is excluded on most policies because this is a dispute between 2 insureds on the same policy.
Legal aid living
With the legal assistance insurance "consumer and living" you are assured of legal advice in conflicts concerning consumer matters. These conflicts can be related to the purchase of a product, the delivery of a purchased product and when you want to reverse a purchase.

In addition to the aforementioned legal assistance in the consumer category, this module also includes the legal assistance for housing category. This includes conflicts about the sale of your home, conflicts with your contractor and also neighbor disputes.
Please note: You have a waiting period of 3 months after taking out the consumer and housing module. You are not insured for a conflict that arises during the waiting period. For conflicts about things you buy or contracts you enter into after the effective date of your legal assistance insurance with the consumer and living module, you have no waiting period.
Legal expenses insurance covers the costs of smaller disputes and traffic cases, as well as legal and other expert mediation. The other coverages can be taken out separately. Legal expenses insurance is not mandatory, but in practice it proves to be very convenient. For certain disputes, insurers may only offer coverage in the Netherlands and not throughout Europe. Pay close attention to this.
