What is a moped?
The official definition of a moped is:
"a four-wheeled vehicle with an enclosed body, a maximum empty weight of 350kg, a maximum design speed of 45km per hour and a maximum power of 4kW or 50cm3."
Most of the same rules apply to a moped as to a car. Mopeds are allowed to drive on regular roads, excluding provincial and highways. Outside the built-up area, the moped has a maximum speed of 45 kilometers per hour, and inside the built-up area one must adhere to the speed limit.
Motor
A moped with a gasoline engine is limited to a maximum cylinder capacity of 50cc. Also, the power may not exceed 4 kilowatts. The maximum width of a moped is 150 centimeters.
Moped parking
One may not park a moped on the sidewalk, but simply in places where one may also park a car.
